Global Information Partners was founded in 2001 when some of the best talent in the IT benchmarking business assembled and asked, “How can we provide better solutions for clients?” The answers came quickly; building the methodology took longer. Our team of experienced IT executives included former CIOs and CFOs with benchmarking experience – people who had built benchmarking models and performed and managed hundreds of client engagements.
The problem was simple, really: traditional benchmarkers required clients to match their data to a rigid model, forcing irrational comparisons and normalizations, requiring tremendous client effort and omitting huge sections of IT budgets from the studies.
Global was built on a new approach; we turned the traditional model upside down, matching our data to individual clients’ cost, accounts and quality metrics. This approach saved considerable time and expense and allowed for a far more accurate comparison and actionable recommendations. This, coupled with the expertise of our professionals, allows us to offer the highest quality IT benchmarking, outsourcing guidance and IT strategy consulting available.
Global’s clients include some of the largest multinationals and mid-size businesses, as well. We have performed studies on three continents, but always work closely with our clients. While we can’t list individual reference group members, the following are some clients who have current data in our database: Boeing, Kaiser Permanente, VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, Harris, UPS, First Data, IBM, NY Life, Cox Communications, Chubb, USAA, MetLife, The Hartford and several others.
We perform: High-Level Overview Assessments, Detailed Product and Service Benchmarks and Historic Trend Analysis, as well as scenario modeling for decision support. We offer Strategic Guidance for decisions on outsourcing upfront or measuring existing agreements.
In 2005, Global purchased the Information Management Forum (IMF), enhancing Global’s quantitative focus with the qualitative information, which is the core of IMF. Founded in 1975, IMF provides a sanctuary for IT executives who want to discuss their issues and ask questions openly and candidly with their peers. While the IMF has grown from its original five founding members, the mission has remained to be the Best Source for Shared Information in IT. The IMF offers a variety of opportunities for IT executives to network, share ideas and learn from one another – all without the presence or financial support of any vendors.
